Ep. 65/ Do this for 5 mins every week to drastically improve your relationships

Remember, you are amazing, and you deserve love, respect, and happiness in your relationships

Grow old along with me; the best is yet to be.” – Robert Browning

Now, let's jump into a simple yet powerful exercise that can radically change your relationships. This exercise is especially beneficial when you find yourself in arguments, conflicts, or facing the anxiety that often accompanies anxious attachment styles. It's a tool I've personally used to boost my self-worth and regain my emotional balance.

Here's how it works:

Step 1: Find a space where you can sit down with a whiteboard or even a blank notebook. Whiteboards are great because you can write big and bold, right in front of your face.

Step 2: Begin writing down all the amazing things about yourself. This includes your past achievements, your future goals, your positive qualities, and all the things you bring to the world and your relationships. Let your thoughts flow freely and don't hold back.

Step 3: Once you've written down this list of amazing qualities and achievements, take a moment to immerse yourself in these words. Feel the positivity and worthiness that each statement represents. Embody these qualities in your thoughts and emotions.

The key to this exercise is to remind yourself of your inherent value and self-worth, especially in moments when you might be tempted to give your power away during arguments or conflicts. Here's why this exercise is so important:

  1. Maintain Your Self-Worth: When you argue or face conflict, it's easy to start doubting your worth. You might begin valuing the other person's opinion more than your own. This exercise helps you maintain a strong sense of self-worth, reminding you that you are deserving of respect and love.

  2. Regain Clarity: Conflict can cloud your judgment and make you lose sight of your own qualities and achievements. Writing down your strengths and revisiting them helps you regain clarity and perspective during challenging times.

  3. Empower Yourself: Instead of relying on external validation, this exercise empowers you from within. It reinforces the idea that you are enough, just as you are, regardless of any external circumstances or opinions.

  4. Enhance Self-Esteem: Regularly practicing this exercise boosts your self-esteem and helps you genuinely believe in your worthiness. It can be particularly beneficial if you tend to settle for less than you deserve in your relationships.

So, whether you're experiencing a relationship conflict, self-doubt, or just want to maintain a strong sense of self-worth, try this five-minute exercise once a week. You'll be amazed at how it can transform your relationships with friends, family, partners, and even yourself.

Embrace your worth, and watch how it positively impacts every aspect of your life.
